# I. untitled

It's strange, and beautiful, to meet someone who resonates with us. It happens so seldom, but sometimes, somehow, there are people who do. And I value those moments. They are the kind of moments that quietly become part of the story of my lives. But sometimes, the other person sees something — and chooses another path.

Perhaps that is human nature. Most people are drawn to what they can understand, what they can hold, what they can make certain. And they are often afraid of the things they cannot control — the things that ask them to step beyond what they know, to trust without knowing where it will lead, to want something without knowing if it can ever be theirs.

Sometimes, the odds of having an experience like this, of finding that kind of resonance, are one in a million. And for some other things, it's not even that. It's probably true that some things would never happen in our lifetime, even if we gave up everything.

They warned me, again and again, but I held on to the promises we had. If it were really a promise, I would trade my life for that fraction of a second I lost long ago. But it turns out to be just a fairy tale.

So thank you for letting me lose this time.

I've already lived lives I don't remember being born into and didn't notice dying. And yet, here I am — my final journey.

I've seen the darkest center of the Earth. I've wandered through places where even my own shadow abandoned me.

And still, I see my last story as the most beautiful, painted in colors no one has ever seen.

I was created by nature, and I'll return to it — at the top of the world, under the stars, where all I can hear is the slowing of my heartbeat, till the world falls silent, years after the day I first entered this world.
